On Sunday, June 7, Christ the Savior Orthodox Church held a Special Parish Meeting to provide updates on the parish’s ongoing temple project and to consider several important motions related to its future development. Parishioners received reports on the progress of site planning, including the completion of wetland delineation work and the continued advancement of engineering, forestry, and septic planning efforts. Final architectural plans remain the primary requirement before submission to Worcester County for review.
The parish also celebrated a recent anonymous gift of $100,000 and approved the acceptance of a proposed $200,000 bridge loan with no interest and a four-year repayment deferment. In a separate vote, parishioners authorized the use of Building Fund Savings for temple-related planning, design, permitting, engineering, fundraising, and construction expenses, subject to oversight and regular financial reporting.
An update was also provided on the Ambassador Program, which will help educate parish households about the project and encourage broad participation as the parish moves closer toward its goal of constructing a new temple for its growing membership and for future generations.
